One foot in the blues, with eyes peeled and gazing forward, constantly seeking new horizons of musical expression. A real Rock’n’Roll monster, National Nightmare.
Hailing from Helsinki Finland, National Nightmare is the real deal with huge rock pedigree featuring Jimi Sero, bass player from the legendary Smack, guitarist MELA, known from Finnish punk legend Pelle Miljoona and lead singer Sami Haxx, formerly of the Species, and drummer Tommy Gun. And mystic couple Miss Simone, background singer and Voodoo, percussions.
National Nightmare’s sound is influenced by 60’s rhythm and blues groove greats like TinaTurner, powerful 70’s blues based hard rock of Aerosmith and wrapped in deceptive simplicity of old school AC/DC, Rolling Stones and ZZ Top. Rallying cries of The Who and Sex Pistols raise up in the catchy choruses, and the ghost of Robert Johnson is overseeing the whole operation.
All this and more, without taking themselves too seriously, National Nightmare is experimenting with the sound and groove with open-mindedness of QOTSA, Eagles of Death Metal and the Black Keys.
In December 2016 the band released the two track single ’Night Bus’ and ’Rock’n’Roll Saves Souls’ packing a tight rhythm section, bluesy guitar hooks, great melodies and larger than life backing vocals wrapped into soulful vibe and feel good Rock’n’Roll attitude. A video for ’Night Bus’ was released in February 2017 and cool Spotify hit and video single ‘Wild Blood’ early 2018. They also released singles ‘Sugar Coated’ with video and ‘Force My Hand’ single during 2018. First album double vinyl and CD “SANGRE SALVAJE” was released October 2019.
